Wicked was absolutely mind-blowing! Every second was pure magic. Jonathan Bailey showcased his incredible talent as a singer, dancer, and actor, making every scene a delight. Cynthia was the perfect choice for Elphaba, her voice was nothing short of spectacular. Ariana as Galinda was spot-on; she brought the voice, the look, and the vibrant energy that the character needs. Michelle Yeoh’s beautiful voice was a pleasant surprise, adding an extra layer of charm to the film. Ethan Slater, despite the controversy, nailed his role as Boq. His unique singing style, reminiscent of his Spongebob days, worked perfectly. Marissa Bode made history as the first wheelchair user to play Nessarose, and she was absolutely precious, with a voice that was sweet and endearing. Jeff Goldblum, although not my first thought for the Wizard, exceeded expectations with his brilliant performance. The supporting characters, like Ms. Cottle (Keala Settle) and Galinda’s friends Pfannee and ShenShen (Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James), brought so much fun to the film. Seeing Keala in a more psychotic role was a great contrast to her character in The Greatest Showman. The choice to use actual animals instead of anthropomorphic ones was a bold move that paid off, adding a unique twist to the movie. Peter Dinklage’s portrayal of Dr. Dillamond was exceptional, effectively conveying emotion through his voice alone. This film is a perfect adaptation of the musical and book. I can't wait for part 2 – the story is only going to get better. I highly recommend Wicked to anyone who loves musicals, even though I know it’s not for everyone. 10/10 would watch again!
