These international celebrities will hit the “Premios Tu Música Urbano” stage with electrifying musical performances and collaborations. The event will take place on June 23rd and will broadcast LIVE on Telemundo at 7pm/6c from the birthplace of reggaeton in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Telemundo announced today the first list of international stars, headlined by María Becerra, Sech, Christian Nodal, Ivy Queen, Zion & Lennox, Jay Wheeler, Piso 21, N’Klabe, and Nio Garcia, who will perform at the third edition of “Premios Tu Música Urbano” (PTMU), the only awards show to recognize the explosive Latin urban music movement around the world. These artists promise exciting performances during the anticipated event that will be broadcast for the first time LIVE on Telemundo on Thursday, June 23, starting at 7pm/6c from San Juan, Puerto Rico. As a testament to the urban genre’s rapid global growth is Argentina’s María Becerra, the top female finalist with nine nominations, four of them for Video of the Year-New Artist. Becerra promises a memorable performance, following her recent release of “Hasta los Dientes,” a collaboration with Cuban star Camila Cabello. Meanwhile, Panamanian star Sech, with six nominations, will arrive to the awards after conquering Mexico during a recent show and announcing the premiere of his new single “Noche de Teteo” as part of his new production ¡Amanecerá y Veremos!
Regional music sensation, Christian Nodal, who boasts two nominations including Top Artist – Regional Mexican Urban, joins “PTMU” after the premiere of his new single “Vivo en el 6,” which is part of his latest album Forajido, the name of his current tour. In turn, urban genre pioneer Ivy Queen, who is up for two awards this year, will appear after venturing into the salsa genre with the release of her song “Pa’ Mi,” with Peter Nieto.
Historic Puerto Rican duo Zion & Lennox, who are up for two awards this year, including Top Song – Tropical Urban for their collaboration on the single “Loco” with Justin Quiles and Chimbala, will hit the stage after their recent release of “Brisa” with Danny Ocean, in which they added a fresh twist on reggaeton; while Jay Wheeler, one of the most promising emerging Puerto Rican artists, with six nominations including Top Rising Star – Male, will perform after selling out his first major concert at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in just 90 minutes.
Urban pop sensation Piso 21, nominated in the category of Top Artist Duo or Group, will come to the coveted awards show after launching “Equivocado,” their latest collaboration with Mexican rapper Santa Fe Klan; while Puerto Rican salsa group N’Klabe, which earned two nominations and recently announced their Mexico tour, will add a tropical flavor to the celebration.
Furthermore, emerging Puerto Rican idol Nio Garcia, who is competing for five awards this year, including Top Song – Tropical Urban, will perform following the recent release of “Yo Quiero Que Tú Te Alokes, a collaboration with Chilean star Pailita.
