The first Joker film was a psychological thriller at its finest, with Joaquin Phoenix delivering a masterful performance. However, this sequel falls flat, transforming into Harley Quinn’s dream sequence, a musical. It lacks the psychological depth and societal critique that made the original film so compelling. The Joker’s power and menace are nowhere to be found. The character of Joker is treated poorly in this film. I found it disappointing, boring, and far removed from the thrilling experience I anticipated. I expected a thriller, not a musical.
