Colombian singer-songwriter and 7-time Latin GRAMMY® winner Fonseca releases his new studio album Viajante in celebration of his twentieth anniversary in the music industry.
Fonseca’s ninth album is accompanied by the single and music video “Pasa“, written by Fonseca, Mauricio Rengifo and Andrés Torres and also produced by Mauricio and Andres, featuring Matisse (Melissa, Pablo and Roman); one of the most celebrated Mexican pop music groups.
Viajante was made around times of uncertainty, when music creators were away from live stages and it was recently completed with the return to the new normality.
In Viajante, Fonseca presents his music through different landscapes and stories with a total of 10 tracks.
The singer-songwriter comments: “The title of this album was inspired by the words of David Remartínez that I came across while thinking about the direction of this new production and my 20-year career trajectory. In the text he speaks about the distinction between tourists and travelers. For me, ‘Viajante’ is the result of going deep into my soul on a journey through these 10 songs that are a reflection of where I am in my life right now. The process of this album has been the most intense I’ve ever experienced. I am very proud of this album, and I hope that my music continues to serve and help my fans to heal, to fall in love, to dance and to offer them that company that music can bring into someone’s life. ‘Viajante’ is a celebration of my 20 years as a music creator. I am and will always be a traveler, and my songs are the leading light that allow me to describe this journey.”
The video for the single “Pasa” with Matisse, was filmed in Mexico City under the direction of Andrés Ibañez.
On his collaboration with Matisse, Fonseca comments: “I love Matisse’s music and I am really excited to have them on this album. They imprinted their essence into this single and poured their whole hearts when they sang it. This is a song that although it speaks of heartbreak, it is also about hope. It talks about the good memories that can still remain in someone’s love story”.
Viajante also features collaborations with other Latin music greats including: Greeicy, Cali & El Dandee, Silvestre Dangond and Cimafunk.
