“The Birth of a Nation”
In Theaters NOW
Set against the antebellum South, THE BIRTH OF A NATION follows Nat Turner (Nate Parker), a literate slave and preacher, whose financially strained owner, Samuel Turner (Armie Hammer), accepts an offer to use Nat’s preaching to subdue unruly slaves. As he witnesses countless atrocities – against himself and his fellow slaves – Nat orchestrates an uprising in the hopes of leading his people to freedom.
The movie is a little too cruel for me, slaves being tortured and their (patrones) bosses getting killed. It shows to their ugly sides for both races, which I don’t like or approve of any of it. I hate the mistreat or any abuse to a human being.
Nate Parker(Nat Turner) what a brilliant performance, he plays a preacher who gets used to preach to the slaves to obey their owners. As he visits the farms, he sees the abuse to his people and decides to fight back in a way that I wasn’t expected. Because he is a man of God, remember this when you see this film.
I totally recommend, 5 out of 5
